This week we feature Dooreen’s take on a travel journal.
The Tim Holtz worn book cover was sprayed with a liberal amount of Lindy’s Silhouette Silver, and inked with Walnut Distress ink. Then random splatters of water removed some of the color, giving a delightful mottled appearance. The front panel was altered using the cardboard backing from packaging, with molding paste through a stencil and coordinating color added (blues and greens). Various bits were used to finish off the front cover: washi tape, word die cut ‘explore’, die cut globe, film strip, stamped images, metal star and a mini plaquette. The back-cover has a road trip car image stamped onto glassine paper which was grunged up and adhered.
Dooreen elected to use the binder insert with page pockets to hold tags and trimmed designer papers. The smaller pieces can be further decorated or used as journaling spots. Details of your travels or pictures can be added to the tags to complete the journal. Each of the tags received a spray and ink treatment to grunge them up, and a stamped travel image to finish it off.
The journal is now ready for your next trip!
