Fairies have played an important part in designing projects for the April kit (Sold Out). There are three projects featured today – a Fairy-airium, fairy night light, and fairy wings.

To create a fairy-airium, choose a jar and remove the lid. Use a piece of floral foam, or half a Styrofoam ball to create a base and glue it to the inside of the lid. Keep checking that the jar will still screw onto the lid as you keep adding things. Moss is glued on and then you can add whatever you like to build the fairy garden. The fairy was stamped from the Santoro ‘Poppy Wood’ stamp, colored and given wings. A piece of floral wire was attached to the back of the fairy and then inserted into position. To finish off the fairy-airum, cut a piece of designer paper to size and insert into the jar. No need to glue in place as it will stay where you put it. Screw the jar onto the lid and adjust the position of the paper so it acts as a backdrop to the fairy. Mixed Media Kit products used in this project: Designer paper, Santoro Poppy Wood stamp, acetate wings.
The fairy night light is easy to do!

Choose an empty pickle jar and glue the fairy die cut to the inside of the jar. A piece of wrapping tissue was cut to size to wrap around the jar. Apply gel medium to the jar, and lay on the tissue paper, avoiding as many wrinkles as you can. Continue til the jar is covered and let dry. Glitter was added to the top shoulders of the jar and also along the bottom end. Wrap the top of the jar with string, then add an embellishment. Add a battery tealight to the bottom of the jar and turn on when you need a night light. Mixed Media Kit products used in this project: Fairy die cut, flowers.
Linda has stamped the Santoro Poppy Wood girl several times on watercolor paper, and then colored them in a variety of shades. Cut out the acetate wings and adhere them to the back of the image.
