Second in our ongoing series - Dooreen Rousseau – designer, artist, and teacher of mixed media art.
I have been making, creating, designing, and altering art for as long as I can remember. I learned early on from my creative parents and I am fortunate to have been able to work in the Craft and Hobby field in both retail and wholesale capacities. Creating art is my passion and it drives me to make all manner of art, from painted canvasses, working and experimenting in art journals, to altered art using a variety of mediums and media. My personal taste runs towards primitive and vintage themes and my rule of thumb is, “if you touch it, you ink it!”
I facilitate a monthly art journal class, a bi-monthly art calendar class, and other technique based classes as the calendar allows, as well as participate in art fest weekends. I also help in creating the bi-monthly Mixed Media Kits, and design some of the projects for inspiration.
