I've chose the Family Day long weekend as I can also come in on holiday Monday if anyone doesn't get finished in class or would like more help on their project.
Please bring to class: paper trimmer, fussy cutting scissors, Mod Podge or matt medium, Dura Clear sealer, Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Walnut Brown (or your choice of brown), black Archival ink and an ink blending tool. Also please bring a ruler, ribbon tape measure, pencil, some form of tacky glue, score tape in various sizes and a paper piercer.
February is a time for love, heart health, and finding somewhere warm to go to, because we are still in winter!
The journal starts with a neutral colour palette of papers, tissues, book pages, and ephemera. You will have a collection to choose from, or bring some papers from home you might like to use.
We’ll be using Distress Collage Medium to make the pages look aged. The heart is cut from canvas cloth and has texture added using molding paste and paint.
Bring with you some basic supplies: apron, non-stick mat, art Journal of your choice, heat gun, scissors, palette knife & card scraper, paper towels, wet wipes, black paint pen or permanent marker, brushes and water basin, water mister, scor tape (1/2" or so), alphabet stamps & archival black ink, papers, tissues, ephemera, gesso, gel medium & molding paste and washi tape, all the rest is supplied.

This workshop is a lot of fun, high energy, and so creative! Using a gelli plate to pull art prints is very addictive, and it’s so versatile! Learn how to:
* use and care for the gelli plate
*use stencils and basic layering
*add visual texture and interest with texture tools
What to bring: 4” rubber brayer, acrylic paint – various colours you like to use, choose vibrant colours – yellow, pink, orange, red, green, blue and purple. Black and white acrylic paint, acrylic metallic paint, background stamps (to add texture), stencils – bring what you have! One of the many enjoyable aspects of going to trade shows is meeting the people who's imagination and creativity create the products we all buy. Met my favourite illustrator, Steven Duncan, who creates many of the paper lines Carta Bella distributes (we'll be getting everything designed by Steven Duncan/Carta Bella, they're all awesome)!

Summer Splash & Passport, a couple of the lines designed by Steven Duncan that will be coming in the months ahead.
