Cardboard Tube Album by Dooreen
The pages in this amazing little album are made from empty toilet paper tubes! Each tube was dry embossed, inked, sprayed and then a little molding paste scraped on for a nice texture effect. An accordion spine was created and each tube was adhered to the spine, creating a sleeve where a tag was inserted. The tags are sprayed, inked and stamped with a travel image. Destination words were stenciled on with black archival ink.
The cover of this album was made using an empty paper towel tube. Once the sleeves are all adhered to the accordion spine, the paper towel tube was wrapped around the outside and glued creating a cover. Papers from the mixed media kit were used on the inside and outside covers, and decorative elements added after everything was inked and sprayed.
Kit products used: Walnut stain, Silhouette Silver spray, Traveller stencil, designer papers.

We LOVE this layout and the die cut background. Each pattern circle was cut and adhered behind the cut circles to create this beautiful background.

The mixed media kit display is eye catching, with great projects for inspiration. We appreciate your kind comments on the projects. Dooreen and Ann are always happy to explain a technique or process used in creating these projects.
When you first walk in the door, your eyes go right to a project Ann designed. It is a round canvas, with a painted, stenciled, stamped and sprayed background. The texture was created with molding paste layered through a stencil. Painting and inking the surface edges enhances the texture and frames the piece. The spray adds further dimension – notice the lovely drippage! Inka Gold rubbed across the texture and around the edges draws your eye to the grunginess. Black archival ink was used in stenciling some destination words with the stencil and a few stamped images complete the background. The laser cut globes were painted, and the continents received Stampendous Aged Silver Embossing Enamel, which really makes the project pop. Great job, Ann!
