Happy Halloween

Altered Doll Class

If you already love playing with Ten Second Studios metals and templates or have seen them in our store and aren’t sure what to do with them, this class is perfect. You will get the chance to not only play with the metal, templates & tools but also other mediums like alcohol ink, paint, sanding blocks, & embellishments. You will also have the opportunity to use the Big Shot to die-cut and emboss the metal sheets to make a fun but original chipboard doll and personalized travel mug.

This class is $55 and runs from 6-9pm on Wednesday November 23. The price includes everything you will need to complete your doll and travel mug, a basic tool set you can take home with you as well as snacks & refreshments. Everyone in the class will also receive a 25% off coupon for all the products featured in this class so you can stock up for home projects.

(If you already have a basic tool set let us know and the price of your class will drop to $35.)

Fancy Pants Christmas Card Class

We have added 2 additional card classes to the 5 that were already scheduled, how exciting!  The first up is this class using  Fancy Pants papers, taking place on Thursday November 3rd. Join me to make these cards, they're bright, colorful & cheerful. I found my husband's stash of feathers for his fly tying and decided that what's his is mine and now it's going to be yours too! Thanks Cory! The feathers on these cards add a fun, beautiful touch.

Featuring...Halloween!

 Don't you hate it when you've typed up a whole big paragraph, and then you accidentally hit the "right" combination of keys and the paragraph magically disappears!? Oh well...I guess I'll just start fresh!

Hi! I thought I would share a couple of recent projects featuring some of the amazing Halloween products on SALE right now at TM. I absolutely love the new Nightfall line from American Crafts. It's perfect for both Halloween and Fall-themed layouts. The colours are muted, but the designs are quirky!

First up is a 12x12 layout. I started out with some of the new American Crafts chalkboard paper, and built my layout from there. 

A really common tip I give customer when they are trying to "match" paper to their Halloween photos, is to first print the photos in black and white! Think of all the COLOUR happening in most Halloween photos...it's super hard to match without going a little crazy! Another fun tip is to create a simple monochromatic layout, with a base of black/white, like the layout above. It will (usually) match anything!

Next up, is a little mini album I created using some extra envelopes. I used a piece of American Crafts fabric paper to reinforce the covers, and used bits and pieces leftover from the project above to embellish the inner pages.

Thanks To Everyone At T.H.E Event This Weekend

Below are a few photos from T.H.E. Big Event.  It was a fun filled bustling three days of excitement, projects, and prizes every hour on the hour for ALL!  Tim Holtz would have been proud.  I would like to thank all of the enthusiastic ladies who attended and am very proud to say that a great time was had by all!  It was a pleasure treating you All!

Wall Sugar...Let's Play!

We have had Wall Sugar in the store for a couple of weeks now, and I am just getting around to getting messy with one! I had a chance to play on Sunday while I was hanging out with the "Tim Holtz Extravaganza" Ladies, and I must admit that I love my end result!

These are great for holiday decor projects, with Halloween almost upon us and Christmas nipping at its heels! I plan on adding my "Christmas Card Photo" to the middle panel and hanging the entire piece in my living room this season. My fellow TM Girls have been working hard on decorating some of the other designs for our Christmas Display, so you'll be able to see those in store in the next week or so!

And why not decorate one especially to show a friend how much you appreciate them! I can imagine loads of ways to incorporate all the fun embellishments from our Cabinet of Curiousities on to a lot of these designs.

Project Details:

1. I painted each piece first with Gesso (white primer) then with a variety of acrylic paints, including the new Claudine Helmuth ones we have in store!

2. The background paper is *new Fancy Pants.

3. The vials are Tim Holtz Ideology, filled with glitter.

4. All the little bits & bobs came from a TM Instant Collection and the Cabinet of Curiousities.

5. The banners, "love" and "xo" are a *new TM Online Exclusive! Downloadable/printable Copic Doodles...by me!! I used the Celebrate Girl printable on this project.

Happy Early Halloween!

I've got loads of news for you today, so let's just get down to it! Scarlett wants to jump in with her "Pick of the Week" as well, so I'll let her go first...

Hi Everybody...Scarlett here! We are in full Halloween mode here at the store! Our displays are up, and we are eagerly anticipating the Main Event! I can't wait to get all dressed up, and also, I hear there will be some candy available at some point! EEK! Excited!!

Thanks for that Scarlett! In response to her wonderful pick this week, Kathleen & I are doing a cute Make & Take!  We're using some cute American Crafts "Night Fall" Paper to make a sweet little treat box!

 

Join Kathleen on Tuesday Night for Show & Tell, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the store. This project is FREE to all! There's no need to sign up, but keep in mind that we complete the project on a first-come first-served basis!

Lisa is going to help the Late Night Croppers complete the same little Halloween box on Friday night. The Make & Take is included with the Crop. We are having Mucho Burrito for dinner!
