Or haven't you noticed? It's sometimes hard to tell, what with the strangely warm days we had for most of the past couple of months. I miss the snow and all the fun outdoor activities that come with it - sledding and making snowmen to name a few.
When I picked up Lucas from school last week, on one of the less cold days of the cold-snap, I had to take these photos. Blue sky, icy breath, four layers of clothing!! ...Just another winter day!
Before I started building the layout, I used some Perfect Pearls mist and one of my tried-and-true Crafter's Workshop stencils to create the shimmery background. The Ranger Perfect Pearls mist is terrific for adding a little bit of colour and pattern to a piece of plain cardstock, without overwhelming the background. It's the perfect combination of subtle colour and terrific shimmer!
I added a little "hidden journaling" not because I am writing about anything particularly sensitve, but because I didn't want to clutter the layout with any writing!
This layout features some fun Echo Park paper, from their new "A Boy's Life" line, as well as Little Yellow Bicycle's Winter Twig. I've also got some MME twine and American Crafts Thickers on there as well. Those chipboard clouds are from Studio Calico, spritzed with a little Mister Huey.
Chantel is headed to CHA this week, so I am here in her place offering up a little bit of my own brand of inspiration. I'm hoping for lots of new product updates and photos from her, as she navigates the booths and freebies at this California trade show!
Echo Park is the first of the new lines to make it to the store, but it definitely won't be the last! Keep your eyes tuned here or to the main blog for all the latest news.

I love this, Lisa! Just to let you know, I didn't even make it all the way through your post, before I was up and doing a perfect pearls background on a LO on my worktable. Thanks for the inspiration, you never fail to get me doing something wonderful!
